I hate being cliché and being predictable and so why start with my name ?
That's just plain boring and I am not boring!
I grew up in a family of 5 children - from the two most amazing beings that being my Mom and Dad of course! Where I come from tradition and culture come first for it is through the 2 intertwined that you become who you are! And so the behavior, the morals and basically the character should represent where you come from. I applaud my parents for teaching and grooming me the values,the principles and beliefs that have become embedded in my soul and move with me today as I get to maneuver in this world.
It's only now though that I am beginning to understand them completely and why they took certain measures upon raising me up in a contextual typical Zimbabwean home - African Parenting Is Very Different I Can Tell You! & it is also now that I am beginning to understand the struggles they went through and every single lesson is now beginning to make sense and be of meaning as I am now an adult and a mother!
That being said I really am the black sheep of the family as I have done things differently in many cases! One of the things I did that turned out to mould me and open my eyes as well as my heart was to get pregnant out of wedlock at the mere age of 19. It came as a disappointment really to my parents as expectations were high and if we align the values, beliefs and principles to then getting pregnant out of wedlock especially at 19, any typical Zimbabwean would understand how it was a disappointment.
All I can say therefore is parents play a very important role in our lives, and I know for sure I would not be where I am now if it weren't for my parents. I haven't reached the greater heights yet but I am working on that gravely! I thank God for parents/guardians, but I give him praise for parents specifically for through them I know angels are there and that parents are the one being that serve you with unconditional love on a silver platter and are there for you no matter what.
That being said the most vital river from which my heart flows, lies in family and probably nothing else than family For that I say to you :
_ Honor _ Your _ Mother _ & _ Father_
I enjoy quite a number of things but I never limit myself therefore I can safely say I am still getting to know me. It's a process! Reading is one of my hobbies, as I enjoy reading novels in particular as well as books that are educational, motivational and are inspirational. My favorite authors are Oscar Wilde, Robin Sharma and James Patterson.
My interests include traveling, fashion, writing, singing, exercising, photography and cooking! I see myself even taking cooking classes and being called Chef, that's probably how much I am invested in food! They even call me Foodie at home but oh well! Story for another day!
I say interests for I haven't dominated those things yet as I am still working on them and better yet discovering myself on a daily note!
To be frank I am quite emotional and I don't shy about it - My emotions are really 'my make and break' as I insert them in the most empathetic manner possible, mostly because I always try and understand the different viewpoints of people and often imagine myself walking in their shoes! It has at times taken it's toll on me but I have embraced it - that's who I am.
I am a living paradox, a dramatic irony, a complicated yet uncomplicated being just cruising on a boat called life literally like everyone else trying hard not to wing it and swing it but figure out who I am and my life's purpose!
So what's different about me, pretty much nothing - but almost entirely everything!
All I know is I'm human, I make mistakes and I am definitely not perfect but the distinctive things about me in a wrap include mainly how and who I define myself to be:
A good person
A wise person
A good mom
and an awesome friend!
The love of my life is my daughter
No one else comes close to her! I practically live for her and strive to be better for her and mainly myself, I hope to give her more of everything, siblings included and for that I can safely say family matters to me.
Family is everything but God is life! God is Love 💖
